Last updated: 10/07/2026
Your privacy matters to me. This policy explains what information I collect when you visit www.laurarobinsonwrites.com or get in touch with me, how I use it, and how I keep it safe. If anything isn't clear, please get in touch at laura@laurarobinsonwrites.com.
I handle all personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Who I Am
I am Laura Robinson, the data controller for any personal information collected through this website or in connection with my services.
Website: www.laurarobinsonwrites.com
Email: laura@laurarobinsonwrites.com
2. What Information I Collect
I collect personal information in the following ways:
- When you use my contact form: I collect your name, email address, and any other information you choose to include. This is used solely to respond to your enquiry.
- When you sign up for a free resource: I collect your name and email address. If you separately opt in to my mailing list, I'll also use your details to send you marketing emails. Downloading a resource does not automatically add you to my mailing list — that is always your choice.
- When you subscribe to my mailing list: I collect your name and email address, and use these to send you newsletters and marketing communications. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- When you become a client: I collect the information necessary to deliver my services and manage our working relationship, including contact details and business information.
- When you browse my website: I automatically receive information such as your IP address, device type, browser type, and your activity on the site (see my Cookie Policy for more details).
- When you make a purchase: I collect necessary financial and transaction data, which is securely processed via Stripe or PayPal.
- Special category data: If you share any sensitive or special category data with me, I require your explicit, affirmative consent to process it, which you can withdraw at any time.
3. How I Use Your Information
I use personal information only for the purposes for which it was collected:
- To respond to enquiries submitted via my contact form.
- To deliver free resources you've signed up for.
- To send marketing emails and newsletters, where you've opted in.
- To deliver client work and manage our working relationships.
- To verify your identity and provide goods and services to you.
- To improve my website, customise content to your preferences, and understand how visitors use it (via analytics).
I will never sell your personal data to third parties, and I will never use it for purposes beyond those set out in this policy without letting you know first.
4. The Legal Basis for Processing Your Data
Under UK GDPR, I need a lawful basis for processing your personal data. Depending on the situation, I rely on:
- Consent: for marketing emails and mailing list sign-ups, where you've actively opted in.
- Contract: for processing data necessary to deliver my services to you as a client.
- Legitimate interests: for responding to contact form enquiries and general business administration.
5. How I Store Your Data & Who Has Access
Your data is stored securely using the following tools:
- Hubsy: my website and CRM platform, which receives contact form submissions and manages mailing list subscribers.
- Google Analytics: used to understand how visitors use my website (anonymised data).
- Stripe / PayPal: used for processing payments securely.
- Google Drive: used to store client content and content plans.
- Claude AI: used for content planning and idea generation (with significant human input). I may enter business details into Claude AI, but only with signed permission from clients.
Access to your data is strictly limited to me. I do not share your personal data with third parties beyond the tools listed above, except where I am legally required to do so. I have data processing agreements in place with all my service providers to ensure your data is protected, and each tool has its own privacy policy.
6. How Long I Keep Your Data
- Contact form enquiries: retained for as long as is reasonably necessary to manage the correspondence, and deleted when no longer needed.
- Mailing list subscribers: retained for as long as you remain subscribed. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Client data: retained after the end of a working relationship for legal and tax obligations, and as a reference for work previously carried out.
- Analytics data: stored by Google Analytics as per their policies.
7. Your Rights & Complaints Procedure
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data I hold about you.
- Request correction of any inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your data (the 'right to erasure').
- Object to or restrict how I process your data.
- Withdraw consent at any time, where consent is the basis for processing.
How to complain: If you have a concern or complaint about how I've handled your data, please get in touch electronically at laura@laurarobinsonwrites.com. I will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days and investigate without undue delay.
If I haven't been able to resolve your concern, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
8. Cookies
I use cookies on this website. Please see my Cookie Policy for full details of what cookies I use and why.
9. Links to Other Websites
My website may contain links to external sites. I am not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to read their privacy policies before sharing any personal information with them.
10. Children's Privacy
My website is not intended for use by children, and I do not knowingly collect or use personal information relating to children.
